Wisdom of Water Ceremony & Wild Gather

Calling Witches, Well Maidens & Water Guardians.

Join me on a deep exploration as we connect to the sacred element water.

We will begin with an immersive 3-hour ceremony connecting to the flow of the water through the power of drumming, song, water wisdom & ritual. There will also be an opportunity to meet the following week for an informal gathering by the waterside.

The ancients revered water + connected to this source of wisdom through its sacred holy wells, wild rivers, babbling Brookes, inner wellsprings, + surging seas. Our watery landscapes are steeped in ancient wisdom, primordial memory + are rich in folklore. Water was known + respected as a powerful conduit to divine unseen realms & forces. However, overtime we have lost respect for this sacred element + our connection to it has drastically diminished. For many people, the quality of our inner wellspring is reflected in the quality of external bodies of water, which have become polluted + stagnant. In modern days water is viewed as a resource. When in fact… ‘water is not a resource it is source’…. And through coming home to this realisation, you will forge deeper channels of connection to this sacred element where it will act as your guide, vibrant life force giver and supportive ally.

During our ceremony we will be venerating water + weaving into the depths of its power through water rituals, elemental songs, healing drumming, accessing water wisdom and sharing the tales of water.

Once we have all connected + journeyed through the intimate portal of ceremony at The Luna Temple, the week after there will be an opportunity to meet again for an informal gathering by the waterside. We will take the drums to the wild water’s edge to connect to this element in its natural landscape. There will be opportunity to sip on healing elixirs, have a wild dip and drum to the water. Sisters of the water. Can you hear the ancient flow call your name?

This is a sacred and safe place to reconnect to your inner power, find your voice, return to your inner rhythm and connect to a wider community of like minded souls.

Drumming Contraindications:

Drum circles are not a substitute for medical consultation for physical, mental and psychological illnesses, but it is a powerful natural complementary form of healing as well as a space for social interaction. It is not a therapy group and should not be seen by participants as such.

Like any form of sound work it may not be suitable for everyone as it involves some loud noise and repetitive beats.

Those with Tinnitus and Menieres disease may find that the use of ear plugs helps them join a drum circle without over stimulating the ears.

Those with epilepsy and those otherwise affected by repetitive sound should consider their triggers and make the session leader aware of any needs they may have.

It is particularly contraindicated for those suffering from active schizophrenia, PTSD and other reality perception altering illnesses as repetitive drumming can change the brain waves and induce trance like states.

Those in the early stages of pregnancy or those who have suffered recurrent miscarriage, and are currently pregnant, should take medical advice before joining a drum circle.

Along with the effects of sound the active sharing space may trigger some people with past trauma. It is to be noted that the Sacred Women’s Drum Circle Facilitators do not take on the role of a therapist in the gathering and should not be treated as such. They may need to intervene and invite participants to seek alternative or additional support.
