Imbolc Ceremony

Even in the deep bleakness of winter life force is still stirring in the land. Hazel catkins sway on bare branches, buds are tightly woven with the promise of spring to come and snowdrops push their way up through the long slumber of the earth.

Imbolc calls us to slow down and remember that the earth is always changing even when it seems still.

Imbolc has always been one of my favourite Celtic festivals. It speaks to a primal ancestral sigh of relief. The land is quickening. Lambing season begins. the days are beginning to beckon a touch more light. And even though winter still has much to show us, the stirrings of spring are beginning to awaken.
